Services Provided by the Facility

1- DNA Sequencing:

The institutional DNA core facility is equipped with state of the art sequencers, for DNA sequencing and genotyping. We have one ABI-3730, three ABI_3100 and one ABI-310 sequencers. If the sample is highly purified and accurately quantitated, we guarantee more than 800bp sequencing/sample with more than 99% accuracy. Our rates are comparable to international service providers especially for the high throughput samples but the quality of sequencing data generated here is beyond the doubts.

If you are working in a public university, the cost of your sequencing needs will be paid by Higher Education Commission (HEC) for you.  Avail this facility by just sending your DNA sequencing samples and see how CEMB helps you in your research and in generating good quality sequencing data.

2- Genotyping:

CEMB DNA core facility also provides high quality and high throughput genotyping facility on the basis of DNA microsatellite analysis. CEMB researchers are very well experienced in STR based genotyping. We can also help you in finding new as well as known Single Nucleotid Polymorphisms SNPs in your DNA samples of local population. We are always available in troubleshooting your data. This facility is also sponsored by HEC.

3- Oligo/Primer Synthesis Facility:

CEMB DNA core facility also offers the synthesis of oligonucleotides. These oligonucleotides (oligos) are suitable for PCR, sequencing, site directed mutagenesis and other similar procedures. These oligos/primers are very cheaper as compared to the imported primers. Besides, the quality of the products is very good. We have high throughput ABI-3900 DNA synthesizer and a team of experienced biochemists. We can provide three different synthesis scales according to the needs of customers.
