Welcome to the homepage of the Proteomics, Nutra-pharmaceuticals & Biotransformation group.  
Here, you can find information about the research team that contributes to several fields of life sciences research mainly focusing on: to identify and develop plant-based pharmaceuticals, bioactive peptides, nutraceuticals, etc. with potential antioxidant, antibacterial, antidiabetic, antiaging, antiviral, antifungal and anticancer properties to add value through the creation of new products. The group's primary goals are to investigate the molecular causes of cancer and diabetes and to create treatments using phytochemicals and biopeptides that have been extracted from natural sources. Additionally, the group is very interested for evaluating the applications of high-value components, development of functional foods, nutraceuticals etc. In addition, the team is aiming to characterize and isolate essential oils and vegetable oils and their biological activities. Besides, team's other goal is to bio transform organic wastes into value-added products like enzymes, biovanillin, and alginic acid and some others food commodities, Last but not least, in order to produce biofuels/biodiesel via biotechnology/fermentation process is another objective of the research group. Currently, three PhD and Four MPhil are working in the team. The team leader supervised 12 MSc, 60 MPhil, and 4 PhD students. Moreover, the 110 research papers have been published in highly reputed international journals, with an aggregate impact factor of around 270. In addition, 13 book chapters and two practical/Manual books for BS/MSc student have been published by internationally renowned publishers.
